I bought two of these light to experiment with. I tried them as accent lights for artwork (paintings, watercolors) in places where we had no recessed (halogen) spotlights to shine from on high. Well, halogen lighting does a lot more for artwork than LED lites, because LED light quality is coldish, and it has that exact effect on warmer colors in artwork, essentially cancelling out warmth and richness. Possibly using for accent lights for black & white photos would work? For now I have one on each side of the keyboard when on the computer at night and the rest of the lights in the office are off; it is very pleasant and I think relieves eye strain when working on the PC at night. LED light contrasts nicely with PC light and adds a nice modern feel to office ambience. They can also be used to create a novel lighting effect in bathrooms when guests are over. Wow, peeing to moonlight, in your own home ! For the price it is fun to play with these lights. I may take them to work to assist in interrogating my co-workers during our daily mini-therapy chats. Ok, the LEDs are going to be on you until you tell the truth !

I printed and cut out a miniature batman symbol and taped it to the center of this light. Now it looks like a batsignal. It is about 5 inches tall and the circular part is slightly over 3 inches in diameter. Looks good standing next to either my Batman figure (from Hush line, about 7 inches) or my Dark Knight Strikes Again statue (Batman is about 10 inches tall, whole thing is about 13-14 inches overall). I tried turning on the light to see if it would cast a batsignal onto the wall or celing, but it doesn’t.

An inexpensive light okay for occasional display use. I was disappointed in the amount of light it provided since the term “spotlight” and 6 LEDs lead me to think it would be a lot brighter. In fact, I have a 3 LED light that has more power. Will keep around for displays that are mostly lit, or for “mood” lighting purposes.

I guess I innately assumed it wasn’t going to be a spotlight I’d mount on my car to find lost kittycats. I initially pictured it as mood lighting, specialty lighting, ambiance. I have it shining on a bust of Shakespeare, and it’s perfect for that.
I can see the seller’s dilemma, though. There are spotlights and then there are spotlights. This is a spotlight with six little LEDs, and so I suppose they assumed too much of us. Don’t buy this expecting to become an EquiSearch volunteer. Buy it to set up some interesting lighting effects in your home.
